Newborn baby boy {1st newborn shoot!!}

I’m excited to finally share with you some of my newborn photos! It was my very first newborn session…EVER…and it was a totally incredible learning experience! Dario is such a cutie and was so good for this session! He made an excellent first newborn for me to practice on! And although I made quite a few beginner mistakes, there are some amazing captures of his new little life!
I look forward to doing more newborn shoots in the near future.I think new born shoots are now my absolute favorite.

My style

I consider my photography style to be romantic vintage .
I enjoy capturing people in a natural, casual, fun atmosphere.

Out are the days of wearing black and khaki, white and jeans, or matching polos.
These days photography is taking on more of a candid, editorial style and you can have fun with your clothing!
The goal is to have everyone compliment each other, but not be too "matchy-matchy."

I encourage my clients to...

A: Avoid white--it's too glaringly bright in black and white and it tends to reflect the landscape colors (green, brown, blue, etc.)

B: Consider what everyone is wearing as one big outfit. You want to coordinate, but you don't want to match exactly. Everyone wearing the same thing = a very boring portrait. Yuck.

C: The little details are the most important part of your portrait. A great tip: decide on an accent color and add that color into jewelry, shoes, undershirts, scarves, tights, hair bows, etc. It adds that extra flair you need to make for a fun and unique picture. Keep in mind that your shoes will be showing in a lot of the pictures.

D: Avoid wearing Sunday-best. Unless you want very traditional-style portraits where everyone looks stiff and uncomfortable, just don't do it!

E: Let me be a part of the whole process with you. I love being able to get excited with you and to help you plan your vision. When I know what you are wearing and understand the feel you are going for, it will make the picture come together beautifully.
